Brian Almeida is Group Managing Director at Direxions Marketing Solutions Pvt. Ltd. He is based in Mumbai and is responsible for the overall management of the group.
Brian has over two decades of experience in the marketing and advertising industry. His specialties include Direct Marketing, CRM, Loyalty program development, amongst others. Prior to his appointment as the Managing Director of Direxions Marketing Solutions in 2009, Brian held the position of Director at Direxions.
Brian was responsible for rebranding DIREM Mumbai as Direxions and launching Cartesian Consulting as a brand. He led Direxions through quality processes and orientation to become India’s first ISO 9001 compliant marketing services company. He also launched a new Rewards & Incentive company – Red Box Rewards India Pvt Ltd successfully.
Brian has been instrumental in launching some of the biggest personalized communications initiatives in the Indian industry. He has shared his expertise in spearheading the launch of India’s most successful Loyalty programmes - the British Airways Executive Club, Jet Airways - Jet Privilege Programme, Shoppers Stop - First Citizen Club, Taj Inner Circle, Bharat Petroleum – PetroBonus & Smartfleet among many others.
Brian has been working dedicatedly in creating a talent pool of Digital marketing professionals in India, and has been successful in launching the Institute of Direct Marketing here. He is also in the process of putting together a community of loyalty practitioners. He has been a Panel member at the DMA Conference session on International markets in San Francisco in Oct 2006. Brian was also a speaker at the Tamoil Global marketing conference in Italy in 2008. He is a member of the British Business Group and the IMA CEO Roundtable Group.
Brian holds a Master’s degree in Marketing Management from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management and is an alumnus of St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, where he currently is on the Board for Statistics Department.

Mala Raj is the Lead Consultant with Cartesian Consulting, the Loyalty Consulting and Data Analytics arm of Direxions. Mala has over two decades of experience in the Direct Marketing, Loyalty and CRM space.
A management post graduate from one of the most prestigious management schools in India – Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore - Mala started her career with Media Planning at Ogilvy. After a few years of Media Planning and buying experience, she moved to OgilvyOne Worldwide– the Direct Marketing division of Ogilvy - to look after the account planning function. Mala spent more than a decade with OgilvyOne across their offices in Bangalore, Mumbai and Delhi heading the Account Planning function. At OgilvyOne, she worked across categories like CPG, financial services, telecom, retail and B2B on blue-chip clients like Unilever, Nestle, ICICI Bank, Vodafone (then Orange), Cadburys and DHL.
Mala has been a Consultant with Cartesian Consulting since 2007 and provides strategic inputs on all key loyalty consulting and business consulting assignments. The scope of work covers loyalty program design, product feasibility/market feasibility studies, CRM strategy, segmentation and communication planning, business consulting, loyalty program audits etc. At Cartesian too, she has had immense cross-vertical experience.
Key clients she has worked on/is working on include ICICI Bank, Arval BNP Paribas, National Stock Exchange, Levi’s, Raymond, Ambuja Cement, Star TV, LG and Unicef.
